We are Joel and Brooke Daku, missionaries to Kiribati (pronounced Keereeboss). Kiribati is an Island nation located on the equator in the South Pacific Ocean. We believe the Lord has called us to go and preach the Gospel to the 107,000 thousand souls that inhabit this island nation. The cults and traditional churches have reached these islands teaching their work based salvation. However, we have not been able to find one Gospel preaching witness there.
We believe as Isaiah 55:5 states, “thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord thy God.” Our desire is to see the Lord glorified in these islands. more...

Ministry Goals

Three of our main Goals are:

  1. Preach the Gospel and disciple believers
  2. Plant Local, New Testament Churches
  3. Train nationals to take leadership.
We believe as missionaries it is our responsibility to take the Gospel to those that have never heard. Christ's last command was, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8) Our first desire is to see God glorified in these Islands. Isaiah 42:12 says "Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands." We are trusting the Lord to raise our support and be on our way to the mission field by the end of 2009. We plan to start in the capital city of Tarawa which has a population of 65,000. From there we plan to follow the Biblical pattern of church multiplication. Through training nationals that can take the gospel through the local church to the other 32 islands. Please pray that God might be glorified in this nation. Our missions verse is Isaiah 55:5 "Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel;"
